As the first and only breast cancer awareness organization in Rwanda, we have established ourselves as trailblazers in raising awareness about this disease. Our unique position allows us to reach underserved communities, educate the public, and drive positive change.

Our holistic approach to breast cancer care encompasses support, empowerment, and education, addressing emotional, social, and medical factors. We provide comprehensive programs that uplift individuals affected by breast cancer, helping them thrive with resilience and hope.

We actively advocate for improved breast cancer care and policies. Through our advocacy efforts, we strive to influence healthcare systems and policymakers to increase access to screenings and treatments and reduce disparities. By raising our collective voice, we aim to bring about systemic changes that benefit breast cancer patients and survivors.

WHO Estimates that 70% of all cancer deaths occur in low and middle income countries where resources for prevention, diagnosis and treatment are limited or non existent. Lack of awareness, fear, myths, stigma and misinformation are associated with the prevalence of late stage presentations in USA and East Africa.

Advanced breast cancer is costly, difficult, or sometimes impossible to treat and may result in death. Breast Cancer Initiative East Africa Inc. (BCIEA) was formed to take the lead in the advancement of breast cancer surveillance and improved survival rates targeting the most neglected low-income communities in the USA and East Africa.
